Driving over Lemons (by Chris Stewart)

'Driving over Lemons' is a mostly autobiographical account of the author buying an old farm in Andalusia, and gradually restoring it with his somewhat reluctant wife.

The book was an immediate hit with the book-buying public, partly because Chris Stewart, the author, was the drummer in the band Genesis when he was younger.

However it is also a very well-written book, with plenty of anecdotes and local interest. I've no idea if every incident happened exactly as described, but having lived abroad ourselves for some years (albeit not trying to renovate an old farmhouse!) it certainly rang true in many places.
