Wild Mountain Thyme (by Rosamunde Pilcher)

What a wonderful writer Rosamunde Pilcher is. I only wish she had written more novels, so there was more of her work to re-read frequently.

'Wild Mountain Thyme' has a dramatic opening. Oliver Dobbs (a playwright) fools the girl looking after his two-year-old son.  Then he arrives on the doorstep of his ex-girlfriend Victoria. She agrees to take him in, and then to go with him to visit an acquaintance in Scotland.

What starts as an idyllic holiday nearly ends in tragedy, before Victoria learns about life and love, and makes some wise decisions.

All in all, I thought this a lovely book.

Definitely recommended.

(You can also read my longer reviews of 'Wild Mountain Thyme', written after the next re-reading, and again in 2016)
