Redheads at the Chalet School (by Elinor M Brent-Dyer)

I first read the Chalet School series in my teens, having found some of the earlier books at my grandmother's house, and all the later ones at my school library. They're light, of course, and a bit trite at times, with some of them rather samey. However Elinor M Brent-Dyer has quite a gift of characterisation, and they can also be very moving.

Redheads at the Chalet School is one of the more exciting books in the series. It's about Flavia, sent to the school to escape a criminal who wants revenge on her.

There's a gripping climax after an enjoyable book that's rather different from most in the series. Recommended to anyone who wants a light teenage book to read.
