Marigold Summers (by Emma Stirling)

I've picked up several books inexpensively from church bookstalls and the like. Many of them are lightweight novels set in the earlier part of the 20th century, and this is no exception. 'Marigold Summers' is a novel by Emma Stirling, set in the 1930s.

A girl called Kate is the main protagonist; she dreams of being a dress designer, but has to work for her impoverished parents.

She meets a refugee, grows up, matures, and falls in love...

Not a bad read, though I thought it fairly average overall.
