Do Butlers Burgle Banks? (by P G Wodehouse)

PG Wodehouse is best-known for his books about Bertie Wooster and his valet Jeeves. 'Do Butlers Burgle Banks?' isn't in that series, but I thought it almost as good.

The complex (and highly unlikely) plot features Mike Bond, the almost ruined owner of Bond's Bank. It also features a new butler, Appleby, who plans to rob the bank.

There are sub-plots galore, classic Wodehouse understatements, and long-winded obvious lines full of humour.

All ends well, if a little relying on coincidence to extricate everyone from the incredible plot!

I read it to my sons, who were 13 and 11, and they enjoyed it as much as I did.
