As with his previous books, the author shows his powers of observation combined with a brilliant sense of humour. He pokes gentle fun at the evangelical church, and produces some delightful caricatures of its members. This works because there's no malice involved. He also makes fun of himself and his own (probably exaggerated) failings.
I thought this book was more thought-provoking than the earlier 'diary'. But there are some very funny moments nonetheless. It's only two years since I first read this, so I didn't find it quite as hilarious as I did the first time. But still I thought it was well worth reading. It ties up a lot of loose ends from the earlier books.
Definitely recommended if you like this style of humour, and have read at least the first 'Sacred Diary'.
