Jack Mercybright

A historical novel by Mary Pearce, second in the 'Apple Tree' saga.

This is a book set in the country. Jack finds a new position and falls in love. His days are followed with believable farming situations, but the plot is minimal and time progresses too fast for continuity.

Probably a realistic view of country life at the end of the 19th century, but I didn't find myself emotionally involved at all, and the ending seemed rather too vague. Not really recommended.
