'The Foundling is one of my favourite historical novels by Georgette Heyer.
The Duke of Sale hankers after being an ordinary person, and is pitched into an adventure by his cousin's amorous exploits.
How he succeeds, and extricates himself from various problems, provides a fast-moving and exciting (albeit unlikely) story with all the ends neatly tied, in Georgette Heyer's inimitable style, with everyone living 'happy ever after'.
I had read this at least once before, some years ago and enjoyed it very much both times.
My longer and more recent review of 'The Foundling' (written 2007) is here.
