'Touching the Soul of Islam' is a very well-written book with interesting anecdotes and examples, trying to explain what Islam really is and what it means to be a Muslim.

Bill Musk, the author, delves into the cultural differences that Westerners often miss when dealing with Middle Easterners. He also looks in detail at the importance of family life in Islamic culture, and the reasons behind many of the things that often seem strange to Europeans and Americans. However he is careful to distinguish understanding from ecumenism or syncretism.

Recommended to anyone wanting to understand Middle Eastern religion better.
