Polsinney Harbour (by Mary Pearce)

'Polsinney Harbour'  is a historical novel by Mary Pearce.  I picked up second-hand, thinking the cover looked interesting. The blurb on the back made it sound like a good book.

It's about a girl called Maggie. She suffers some family tragedies, then she finds a new home in another fishing village. Inevitably, perhaps, she also discovers love.

I thought this a believable book with warm characters.  There was quite a dramatic semi-sweet ending, too. While it's not really my preferred genre, it made pleasant reading overall.

I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys lightweight historical fiction.
